Abstract:

“With the increasing complexity of service environments, service design plays an increasingly important role in system change. This paper aims to fill a key gap in the service design literature: the application of updated service-dominant logics, service ecosystem theory and institutional theory to service design. By combining bibliometric and hermeneutic approaches, this study reveals the latest research trends in service design. Further, this paper proposes a new service ecosystem transformation process model. The model elucidates the embeddedness and reflexivity of service design in the service ecosystem transformation process, highlighting the key role of embedded service design in understanding and coping with the complexity of service ecosystem. In addition, this paper establishes a framework for the application of dynamic capabilities of service design, which makes a new theoretical contribution to the field of service design and provides a fresh perspective on the transformation of service ecosystems, thus promoting a deeper theoretical and practical understanding of the application of service design in complex and ever-changing environments.” –Abstract
