Abstract:

“This thesis will analyze the unique stage of immersion the themed entertainment industry has entered into in recent years. As guests expect more from parks and experiences, the approaches need to reflect that. From its roots, the industry has always been pulled from movies, but now inspiration is beyond that. It’s essential to look at other forms of entertainment and why they are successful. Then, it is about abstracting that success and bringing it into the theme park landscape. The model in this thesis seeks to pull from those various forms and bring them into one holistic experience. Though most of the techniques used in the model are not new to the industry, the combination is unique. This approach will move the needle towards this new phase of themed entertainment.” –Abstract
