Abstract:
“This article explores background design as an important part of animation. Background designers should consider researching the realms of spatial design, environment making for humans. This paper considers two concentrations of spatial design: retail design and theme entertainment. It examines applied research on the flow of movement, implied story, and how background designers can use these to make a more natural environment for an animation. Spatial design incorporates research based on human emotions and psychology. This article shows how background designers can take advantage of this to enhance their environments.” --Abstract Keywords: background design, spatial design, flow of movement, implied story, animation, retail design, theme entertainment.
