Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to explore the production processes of both live-action filmmaking and three-dimensional animation, their respective techniques, and the aspects of each practice that intertwine. Because three dimensional animation draws heavily from live-action filmmaking, and allows the filmmaker to expand a cinematic story beyond what can be achieved in live-action alone, the two mediums have begun to fuse in previously un-imagined ways.
Abstract:
Ultimately, this thesis seeks to employ several of the studied techniques in practical usage to create a short film that will be both produced in the environment of 3-D animation and derive
its techniques from the world of live-action filmmaking.
