Abstract:
"This thesis proposes the design of a new, original Cirque Du Soleil show, utilizing new integrated staging and special effects technology, based around the IP of 'Avatar: The Last Airbender.' The production will be designed to go into a touring Grand Chapiteau Big Top, allowing the show to touch audiences on a national and international scale. The resulting design will create a new profitable attraction for Cirque that appeals to all audiences and further evolves Cirque’s growing tradition of IP-based experiences. This proposal will include research on past and present trends in the earth of Cirque, story treatment for the show, a piece of key concept art, storyboard for the acts of the show, and a detailed design for one of the acts. This design shall include a finished digital scenic model, 3-5 renderings and a storyboard highlighting key moments within the act."
