Abstract:
|
"Scholars have researched inventory management in the apparel industry as it is crucial to cut costs and meet customer demand, especially with the growth of omnichannel distribution models. This research expands on the concept of apparel inventory management by examining the perception of brands and industry experts, specifically as they relate to vendor-retailer distribution center partnering models. This study will survey, using semi-structured interviews, three industry experts, research an apparel retailer through a case study and analyze partnership model frameworks, available through an in-depth literature review of peer-reviewed journals, books, and reliable sources. Results showed that the relationship between inventory and the rise of an omnichannel strategy in apparel through a distribution center partnering model is time efficient and cost effective if companies leverage strengths. This study has implications for inventory management solutions in omnichannel driven apparel companies."
