Abstract:
"This thesis will focus on the application of German Expressionism to inform the creation of a 2D animated short. The history of German Expressionism will be explored in its various mediums including its influence on early silent horror films to create a consistent visual language that invokes unease and dread in the audience."
Abstract:
Includes the author's 2D animated short film "Thorns" that uses "elements of German Expressionism to convey anxiety and dread, primarily in the form of a nightmare."
