Abstract:
|
"In the attempt to persuade, animation uses semiotics to create an additional story that viewers perceive alongside the obvious narrative. This other, covert story is facilitated by the simulacrum to a degree that makes animation a viable method of creating an emotional connection between viewer and subject matter. This thesis explores the interaction of life and artifice in animation and how that relationship is utilized in educational and persuasive media."
