Abstract:
Project Genesis investigates identity and what it means to exist as a self-defined Black man. Blacks have adapted and formed their own sense of identity in order to cope with loss of authenticity that ties to the past can provide. Project Genesis illustrates a renegotiated past that I have created for myself. At its core it is about an exploration of identity, why it matters, and the power that a self-formed identity possesses. The ability to create for yourself a past and in turn forge a future is invaluable, especially to anyone that has ever felt lost.
