Abstract:
In recent Hollywood mainstream animated features, many film studios are creating popular minor characters, even though they are not in the center of narrative. These minor characters provide a highly active as comic relief that sometimes might overshadow the protagonists. These minor characters are the mascots of films. This thesis will discuss the functions of these mascot characters in feature films, through their similarities in characterization.
