There are two different types of hospitals that exist in the Chinese health care system:

combination of traditional Chinese medicine hospital and western hospital settings might seem
strange but has been happening in China since the 19th century. Because the superstitious
elements traditional Chinese medicine has, it abolished from the 1966 to 1976. Right now, the
traditional Chinese medicine back to our life with the government support. Unfortunately, the
whole traditional Chinese medicine hospital environments are still in bad shape from the past.
Moreover, the TCM hospital environment utilizes the same structure and design as conventional
hospitals. The particular equipment is not installed in the patients’ room. The current TCM
hospital environment is still messy, crowed and uncomfortable, especially in patients’ room and
recovery room. Room colors, temperatures, and particular equipment were measured on a basis.
The thesis will focus on the patient comfort in treatment and recovery room of TCM hospital.
