Abstract:

As developed society, people’s lifestyle has totally changed, For example, some people are
having nightlife instead of working in the daytime, and some people work at his/her home instead
of physically go to the office. These days, it is hard to expect what is coming to our life during
the next 10 years. Various trends and fads quickly exist and remove. Those facts sometimes give
critical damage to the life which can change their entire lifestyle. For example, People could easily
keep in touch 24/7, delivery food, and even shopping through internet services. However, there
is one thing never changed; the natural laws. All living things lives limited time from one day to
couple of hundred years, and human being is the only one thinking about retire life. There are
some of social issues about retires. For example, accept new technology, change their life, and
maintain social activities. In the United State, one of the serious issues is population growth and,
it makes other chain reactions such as lack of family bonding, Isolation from communication.
Some of the elderly people who are not familiar with learning or accepting new technology are
having a hard time to be adapted in the world. Back in the old days, the necessaries of life are
food, clothing, and shelter or a place to live, but now, the social activities are more important
factor especially for the elderly. The average of life span is getting longer day by day. For these
reasons, Design cohousing community is the one way to foster elder’s social activities.
