Abstract:

Through exploration and implementation of a Michael Chekhov technique of acting known as the psychological gesture, I played the character of “Taylor” in the SCAD MFA thesis film First Time, written and directed by an M.F.A. Candidate in Film and Television. This thesis focuses on how the psychological gesture works, how I used it for my character, and why it suits me as an actor.
