Abstract:
|
This thesis will focus upon exploring the genre of psychological drama. By examining
five films that fall under the genre of psychological drama, Who’s Afraid of Virginia
Woolf?, Oldboy, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Ordinary People, and Dead Ringers, I will
explain how the narrative techniques and visual tropes in this genre are employed with
great effect to create audience understanding and rapport with psychological disordered
characters. Finally, I will apply these concepts and techniques to my short film, “Eve’s
Game,” and discuss their effectiveness.
