Abstract: 
This thesis discusses the emergence of a trend that Millennials (born in 1980-2000) are flocking to urban environments as the job market shifts and the need for housing and community for Millennials living, working and studying in urban environments is getting larger. The goal of this thesis is to discover potentials innovative design approaches that better meet the unique patterns and behaviors preferred by the Millennial Generation and establish a guideline for future generations living in urban housing. The variety of characteristics, preferences and needs of Millennials will play a significant role in developing meaningful design strategy of approaching younger generations of urban dwellers and validate profound interior design proposal for improving the housing options and sense of community in respect to private unit and public amenities. A qualitative research will be conducted including observation and visual analysis, online questionnaires and precedent studies. The findings of this study will help create a framework for understanding and designing a new type of urban housing to specifically satisfy the needs of one of the largest demographics in the housing market.
