Abstract:
My thesis uncovers the plurality of experiencing touch when visually interacting with artworks. Tactility as stimulation extends beyond the material despite the fact that it occurs on our skin. It is a mental perception that can be evoked by a memory, a visual or even a sound. The focus in this research is to present the haptic as an inseparable part of sensibility rather than an isolated stimulation, which expands the potentials of sensorial cognition. By playing with materials and processes in objects that invite our touch, this body of work questions beyond the physical and visual contact into this communication between our Haptic sense and the object as an experience.
