Abstract: 
Graphic design has been shown to be an effective medium for social change and influence. By integrating a concentrated design approach and social marketing, the visual discourse of philanthropy can be improved. Social marketing is a powerful tool to engage the public, but rarely do philanthropic organizations specifically design to their various target audiences. This thesis will focus on how social marketing can facilitate philanthropic initiatives by engaging volunteer pools, potential donors, and the public.
