Abstract:
|
Design can enhance a city’s image and make it more desirable with a prominent, well-designed
brand identity. An effective brand will unite current residents, attract new residents, increase
tourism, and enhance an outsider’s perception of the city. This study examines the design
elements that are important to a brand in relation to a city. It then looks to case studies of past
and present city and destination brands for their positive attributes and potential pitfalls,
culminating in a creative project: a successful brand identity for the city of Cleveland, Ohio.
